Join us for NextGen Saturdays — a series of programs designed for young women ages 13+. We encourage all to come, by yourself or with the young women in your life. This is a great way to expose our mission to a new generation of women.
Lean In? Out? Or Stand Up Tall as A Woman Leader
When asked what makes a great leader, people around the world name values and qualities that are usually associated with women. Yet women in leadership are still judged differently — and more harshly — than men. You’ve heard the labels: “Bossy Pants” instead of natural leader. “Nasty Woman” instead of confident. “Aggressive” instead of assertive. These judgments start in grade school, and there is no magic formula for pursuing your goals while disguising your intelligence, your creativity, and the ideas you were meant to contribute to the world. It is never to early for our NextGen leaders to start learning how to stand tall.
Come join in conversations about bringing the best of our feminine selves to leadership. Learn to discuss how men, too, are hurt by sexism, and how we can transform the “Nasty Woman” movement into real opportunities for women in leadership.
Led by Club member Jane Kise, Ed.D., who consults with businesses and schools worldwide on leadership development, conflict resolution and collaboration. The author of over 20 books, her most current project is A Woman’s School Leadership Journey, due out in 2018.
