Women in Art: A Tour at Mia

Event Date: Tuesday, January 16, 2018
Event Time: 1:30 pm

Sign up for an exclusive tour at the Minneapolis Institute of Art after the Tuesday Program lunch on January 16. We will carpool from the Club to the museum after lunch (2400 Third Avenue South, Minneapolis). We meet up at Mia at 1:30 pm for our docent-led tour. Space is limited, so do plan early.

The tour, “Women in Art,” will take us from the figure of a woman in the Cyclades Islands from 2500 – 2400 BCE, to an unusual oversized ceramic of a woman of 1999. We will see pieces with women as the subject matter and others, more recent pieces, will be by female artists. Our tour will include a kitchen in Germany in the 1920s and an abstract “Chinese Garden.” Each work of art represents the role women have played in art and in life from early ages to today.

After the tour, we return to the Club for a discussion and a beverage (wine, any one?).
There is no charge for the Women in Art tour. Please sign up with the Front Desk: frontdesk@womansclub.org or 612-813-5300.
