The African National Congress (ANC) party has governed South Africa since the end of Apartheid in 1994, but the party today suffers from popular frustration with President Jacob Zuma, and it faces growing threats from both left and right opposition parties. What is the future of America’s relations with South Africa? 
And what lies ahead for the ANC?


Henry Berman is a retired businessman, who worked for Ecolab, a multinational corporation, for more than 30 years. He has personal ties to the Middle East and a strong interest in that region as well as the emerging continent of Africa. He is a member of the local Council on Foreign Relations and has give several talks at our Great Decisions programs, including Saudi Arabia and the future of the Kurds.
