Community Outreach Seeks Volunteers and Donations for Annual VIP Luncheon
It is a Woman’s Club tradition to entertain the VIPs (Visually Impaired Persons) who are clients of Vision Loss Resources at a Luncheon on the first Thursday in May every year. It is a tradition that dates back to 1914 when Helen Keller was invited by the Woman’s Club to speak in Minneapolis at the Schubert Theater.
The event was open to the public and the visually impaired community, and was so well received that Helen was invited to return the following year. The luncheon has been a tradition at The Club now for 104 years. This year will be the 105th!
We invite you to sponsor a guest(s) for this event. Your $25.00 tax-deductible donation will pay for one luncheon guest. Charge it to your account by completing a form found in your statement or at the Front Desk. Alternatively, you can call the Front Desk at 612-813-5300 and they will fill it out for you. Our hope is to raise $5000 through donations.
Also consider participating in the event by volunteering as an escort and table hostess. This is a wonderful opportunity for new members to become involved in our Community Outreach effort.
