Tuesday Program - The Bear and the Hive: Transforming Family Research into Poetry

Guest Speaker: Lynette Reini-Grandell

Lynette Reini-Grandell recounts traveling to Finland and Poland in search of her cultural heritage and describes how she drew upon those insights to write poems inspired by regional history, mythology, ethnography and family stories.

Lynette Reini-Grandell is the author of Wild Verge (2018) and Approaching the Gate (2014), which won the Northeastern Minnesota Book Award for Poetry. She has been nominated for a Pushcart Award and received grants from the Finlandia Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board.
A member of the jazz/poetry collective Sonoglyph, she lives in Minneapolis with her spouse and two cats.
She also has two horses who do not live in Minneapolis.

 

The Tuesday Program is a Club tradition to educate, inspire and entertain our Members and guests. Coffee and tea are served at 10:30 am in the Lounge, followed by a Guest Speaker in the Ballroom at 11:00 am and lunch in the Dining Room at 12:00 pm. The cost for lunch is $18.00 plus tax and service charge ($23.28, inclusive of tax and service). Reservations are not necessary.
