The Lounge

img

Stroll into the Lounge with its soaring arched windows, timbered ceiling, and 16th century hand-hewn stone fireplace imported from Italy, and be transported back in time. The Lounge exudes an old-world glamour that will inspire you and delight your guests. Warmly lit, the space is so perfectly proportioned that while spacious, the feeling is one of intimacy. Descending from a Juliet balcony, the staircase is a dramatic focal point for grand entrances. Persian rugs cover a polished oak floor ideal for dancing. Enjoy a cocktail at the marble-topped Bar or settle into an overstuffed chair. Step through the French doors onto a covered Loggia with views over the trees of Loring Park, where downtown city lights reflect off the pond. Striking and elegant, the Lounge is a jewel within The Club.

Seating Capacity: The Lounge can accommodate up to 500 for a stand-up social, or bring the party into the adjoining Dining Room for larger events.

The masterful art collection throughout The Clubhouse conveys an immediate sense of grandeur and grace, and nowhere is this more evident than in the sumptuous Ballroom. Hand-carved plaster relief, stately columns, crystal chandeliers and classical embellishments surround you and your guests. Honey-colored hardwood floors rise to an elegant stage, a grand piano graces the spacious Ballroom Foyer, and a fully-stocked Bar off the Foyer opens your options for designing the perfect celebration. One of The Club’s most versatile spaces, the Ballroom is the perfect space for a ceremony, a sit-down dinner, a dance—or a combination of all three.

Seating Capacity: The Ballroom seats 160 for a ceremony (with theatre seating), or 144 for a sit-down dinner.

The Falconer Memorial Library

A hand-carved wooden relief of a sailing ship on open water hangs above the stone fireplace of the Falconer Memorial Library, commissioned by the husband of one of The Club’s founders who likened his wife’s impressive figure to a “ship in full sail.” Clad entirely in rich mahogany paneling, the charming Memorial Library is a favorite space for many visitors to The Club. Mahogany bookshelves display a distinctive collection of antique volumes. Floor-to-ceiling windows open to cast-iron balconies that overlook the Park. Perfect for meetings, luncheons, cocktail parties and dinner parties.

Seating Capacity: The Memorial Library seats up to 30 for meetings, luncheons and dinners, or 40 for a stand-up social.

With its sweeping views of Loring Park, the Basilica of St. Mary and the Minneapolis skyline, the Rooftop Terrace is ideal in the warmer months for engagement parties, luncheons, bridal showers or bachelorette parties. It’s also a favorite spot with many couples and bridal parties for photographs.

Seating Capacity: The Centennial Room seats up to 42 for a sit-down dinner or meeting, and also makes an excellent staging area for events in the Lounge. It is especially popular with bridegrooms.

The Alice Winter Room

Named for The Woman’s Club first president, a civic leader at the turn of the previous century who pioneered social change for women and children in the city of Minneapolis, the Alice Winter Room has been a beloved dressing room for brides for more than eight decades. French antique baroque furnishings, original oils and a mirror gilded in gold leaf adorn the room. Sumptuous antique-reproduction couches flank a marble-topped cocktail table, and an antique bronze bridal gown hook hangs high on one wall. Delicate teardrop chandeliers light the graceful space. The Alice Winter Room is also an excellent venue for an intimate family dinner.
