Guest Speaker: Scott Lykins
This season the Lakes Area Music Festival returns for the third year as Artists in Residence at The Womanís Club. But who are they, what is LAMF, and why are they here? Enjoy a special performance by the organizationís artistic director, cellist and pianist Scott Lykins, and learn more about this Brainerd-based classical music festival which draws musicians from top orchestras and opera companies around the world!
Scott Lykinsí career uniquely blends artistic performance as a cellist and pianist with administrative creativity as founding artistic and executive director of the Lakes Area Music Festival in Brainerd, MN. He is a member of the South Dakota Symphony and Duluth Superior Symphony, and has served as principal cellist for the National Orchestra Institute, National Repertory Orchestras, Classical Symphony of Chicago, and Eastman Philharmonic Orchestra. As a soloist, recent concerto appearances include the Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra, Heartland Symphony, Northeast Orchestra, and the Lakes Area Music Festival.
The Tuesday Program is a Club tradition to educate, inspire and entertain our Members and guests. Coffee and tea are served at 10:30 am in the Lounge, followed by a Guest Speaker in the Ballroom at 11:00 am and lunch in the Dining Room at 12:00 pm. The cost for lunch is $18.00 plus tax and service charge ($23.28, inclusive of tax and service). Reservations are not necessary.
