Tuesday Program - Itís Going Down: Juxtaposition Artsí Cultural Legacy Campaign

Learn about Juxtaposition Artsí 23 year history of putting creativity to work in North Minneapolis by training and employing teens and young adults in art and design jobs. Cummingsí will highlight the impetus for starting Juxtaposition, its impact, and big plans for the future.

DeAnna Cummings creates authentic opportunities for people to exercise leadership and pursue self-sufficiency through hands-on engagement in art and design. She is the CEO and co-founder of Juxtaposition Arts, a cultural development center and teen staffed design firm founded in 1995 in North Minneapolis.
She has presented about equity in the arts, creative placemaking, leadership, social entrepreneurship and asset-based youth development to diverse audiences including at the United Nations, New York University, Texas A&M University, Allied Media Conference and the Walker Art Center.

She is a 2016 Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Women in Business Awardee. Minnesota Public Radio named her a 2013 Arts Hero. She is a current member of the Archibald Bush Foundationís board of trustees. Cummings holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University. 


The Tuesday Program is a Club tradition to educate, inspire and entertain our Members and guests. Coffee and tea are served at 10:30 am in the Lounge, followed by a Guest Speaker in the Ballroom at 11:00 am and lunch in the Dining Room at 12:00 pm. The cost for lunch is $18.00 plus tax and service charge ($23.28, inclusive of tax and service). Reservations are not necessary.
