Worldwide Knit in Public Day

Celebrate with us!

The Woman's Club of Minneapolis invites all fiber lovers to participate on June 8th from 11 am to 3 pm at our historic building in the Loring Park neighborhood of Minneapolis.  Do you knit or crochet?  Needlepoint?  Maybe you upcycle existing textiles?  Whatever you love, you are invited to celebrate WWKIP Day 2024 with us. 

Attend!

We invite you into our Historic Clubhouse between 11 am and 3 pm to relax with fellow fiber arts lovers. Our Lounge has comfortable spots to curl up and tables to share a refreshing beverage or light snack. French doors open to our Logia, an outdoor, covered space with tables and chairs that look out onto Loring Park. Or, for a more expansive view, come up to our 6th-floor Rooftop, which has spectacular views of downtown Minneapolis and Loring Park.  Free coffee, lemonade and tea with food and other beverages available for purchase.   This event will be free to the public, with a suggested donation to help cover our costs for the day.   We will also offer tours of our building.  Learn more about our history with fiber in our community.

Swap!

Do you have yarn, fabric, needles, gauges, buttons, or other fiber art materials or tools you would like to have a new home?  Bring your items to swap with fellow fiber arts lovers!  Didn't bring anything to swap but see something you could use?  Make a donation to one of our nonprofit partners!

Learn!

Take a mini-class.  Steven Berg (Stevenbe) will be teaching Mama Christa's Super Stretchy Cast On and Mea Clift will be teaching how to hand piece a quilt block.  Attendees are welcome to sign up to teach a skill!

Support!

Swap donations will support Bundles of Love (www.bundlesoflove.org). Attendees can also donate to The Woman's Club of Minneapolis to support this and future fiber events.
